Journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa will cover the tumultuous last year in American politics in a book coming later this year, CNN reports.
Simon and Schuster will publish the book, as yet untitled, on Sept. 21. A page for the book on the publisher’s website offers scant details, saying only, “The book covers the end of the Trump presidency and the early months of the Biden presidency.”
The book will be the third one written by Woodward about Donald Trump. His 2018 book, Fear: Trump in the White House, became a No. 1 New York Times bestseller upon its release, and angered the president; Trump questioned whether Woodward was a “Dem operative” after revelations from the book emerged in the media.
In an interview with the Guardian after the publication of Rage, Woodward talked about the experience of interviewing Trump for the book.
“I’ve been a reporter almost 50 years and I never had an experience like this,” he said. “[Trump] has this kind of savage energy and it comes through in some of the recordings I’ve released. It comes through in his rallies. So for me, it’s a window into his mind. It’s much like, as somebody said, the Nixon tapes where you see what he’s actually thinking and doing.”
According to CNN, it’s as yet unknown whether or not Woodward and Costa’s book is based on interviews with Trump.
